| Sparkplugs
Small changes, big differences
The sparkplug programme encourages people to get busy in their neighbourhoods
and get on with projects that make things better.
It’s locals who usually know what are the main community problems –
from bored youngsters causing nuisance, underage drinking, intolerant attitudes,
drug taking to graffiti, litter and poor care of the environment. It’s
locals who also usually know the best ways to solve them too.
All it needs is one enthusiastic resident – the sparkplug – with
a good idea, some money and encouragement to be the catalyst. What can be achieved
is amazing. And when several projects run in one area, the overall result can
be dramatic community change and improvement.

the programme brings. |
